When I tried on these shoes at the store, they seemed to be of good design, quality and fit. However, I soon found out during a 20 minute walk that the shoes were not comfortable. By the time I got home, I had blisters, and the back of my left foot was bleeding were some of the skin had been scraped off. I don't know if it's a general flaw with this particular brand of shoes, or just with the ones I bought. Regardless, I'm disappointed.

First flats I've owned in a long time

Pros: quality construction, long lasting, nice enough for work, doesn't absorb water when walking through rain
Cons: don't breathe - feet get sweaty
My review refers to a discontinued color called Mushroom which is sort of a grayish taupe color. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well these shoes hold up. The "leather" has not scuffed or peeled, and I wear these shoes 2-3 times a week for work. They do not breathe well and get sweaty and stinky super fast, so I just keep the odor-control padded insoles in them at all times and put in a fresh pair whey they're worn out. It has really helped me extend the life of these shoes, which are still perfect on the outside. I like that the sole is rubber, which helps with shock absorption and prevents me from slipping. I'm getting another color on clearance, and am ordering a different pair from AE as well. Highly recommend for an inexpensive, professional looking flat!

Cons: size difference, poor quality for price
I bought these shoes for a funeral in September 2011. Liked them at first, but after a few months the sole started coming away from the shoe. I only wear these to work about 3 times a week. I work in an office. Very poorly made and will not buy them again:(

I enjoyed wearing this shoe. It was very comfortable, not too tight, not too loose. It was a very comfortable fit. I have no complaints. I would like to order another pair for my daughter becuse it is the perfect fit.

Not for Long Wear

These shoes are nice enough. I got them for business casual events and possibly work as a waitress/bartender. I've only worn them a little, but they tend to rub on the back of my heel and the inside of my foot by my big toe. I'm going to try moleskin and bandaids. Hopefully this will resolve the problem or they will break in to the point where this is no longer a problem. I don't think they'll ever be comfortable enough to wear all of the time.

I purchased the shoes in a size 5.5 and the fit is really nice, although at times it rubs against the back of my heel. These flats are extremely comfy, and cushioned. I believe if i wear them a few more times, it will not rub on my heel. overall great for the price

A Nice Summer Flat

I had my eye on this shoe several visits before actually buying it. Although it came in black and brown, the cream color caught my eye as the perfect summer shoe . They will work great with my business casual wardrobe because they look light, professional and summery. I especially like the pleated detail on the toe, it's nice to have a flat with no bows for a change.
I found the sizing on these shoes strange. I normally wear 9 1/2 but in this shoe, I had to go down to a size 9 which fits perfect. They are super comfortable. It didn't hurt that these were on sale and I had a $2 off survey coupon. Even without them, I still would have bought this shoe. Great style, great value!

It is really hard for me to find shoes that fit...Im 9 wide and my feet are swolen most of the time....anyways..I tried the black one and I was IN LOVE!!! I bought these shoes to wear to a funeral and also so I had some basic black shoes. The night before the funeral I wore them just to feel them out. Within 5 minutes of walking I got a huge blister which rubbed off in seconds. I stepped on the back to wear them back to where my old shoes were. The heel of my foot was so bad that I was unable to wear any shoes. I put a little cushion of gauze on the back of my foot and was still unable to wear any shoes. These shoes are adorable though. I love the style and how there isn't a big bow or flower on the front.

Love these flats

I had been searching everywhere for a new pair of black flats but nothing seemed to work. On a whim I stopped in to Payless and found these shoes. I tried on my usual size (9) in white; they fit perfectly and I ended up buying both a black pair and white pair. Once home, the shoes fit a little differently - the black pair seems a tad narrower. The first two days I wore them to work, I could feel discomfort at the base of my big toe. After those two days of stretching, however, they are perfect. The white pair has been wonderful from the start. I absolutely love these shoes - the look, the fit, the comfort - and will be going back for the brown pair.

I love these flats! They're super comfortable for all day wear and look nice with a pair of jeans or a pair of nice slacks. I did need to get a 1/2 size bigger than I normally need, but the wide width is great because it's hard to find cute shoes in wide widths! I love these shoes and would definitely recommend them to someone but highly suggest trying them on first!

Pros: very cute, has a little heel, the insole is oh so slightly cushiony
Cons: tight leather, rubs on the heel and toes
I tried these on in-store they were comfortable. They felt a little tight but it wasn't that bad. I'm am usually a 6 in flats, and these fit (but like i said, the leather was a little tight). When I first wore them to work, they were fine for the first couple of hours, but by the end of the day, they were rubbing badly on the back of my heels. They didn't quite blister, but they hurt a LOT. My pinky toe also started to rub on the outside of the shoe. I'm hoping the leather just has to be worn in and streched, but they certainly will not be comfortable during that process. I plan on buying heel pads to stop the rubbing until they stretch (hopefully). On the plus side, they are very cute. And i like how they have an insole that almost molds to your foot, so it doesn't hurt to stand for long periods of time. There is also a tiny little heel, which I like over many of the other thin, perfectly flat, flats out there.

This shoe is comfortable! I wore it to work a few times with footies, and it hasn't given me any problems. The sizing is iffy. I am usually a size 7, but when I tried it on in the store, it was slipping off. The 6 1/2 was too tight, but the 6 1/2 wide was perfect, so I suggest trying on the shoe before you buy. Other than that, it's great. I hope it lasts me awhile.

I have had such a hard time lately finding anyone who still knows the definition of customer service but I will tell you that the Payless Shoes on Evergreen Way in Everett Washington knows what it means. I called on the phone after looking up what I wanted on the internet and the sales girl not only looked it up in her computer to see if the items I wanted were in stock but she went and found the items and put my name on them so my husband could just go pick them up, she made this shopping experience so great that i will not go anywhere else. Oh and by the way the shoes and purse I bought were perfect and looked like desinger stuff. I am very happy with this Payless.

I was surprised how sturdy this shoe was. Great buy for the money. I believe these shoes will hold up way better than my previous Payless purchases. The shoe is a little tight and I haven't worn them out yet.. but it looked great at my at home fashion show!! You may want to go up one size.
