What happened? Cardboard Soles
Date:November 1, 2012
My boyfriend walks 2-5 miles every Saturday and Sunday on a paved county maintained walking path. Sometimes he walks twice on these days. 2-3 times a month he will also walk on a week day. It is the only time he wears athletic shoes. He wears work boots the rest of the time, even just to run to 7-11. The first year he had periods of unemployment so he walked even more than he does now. He had a pair of cross trekkers that had lasted 2 years, with more than 2000 miles were walked in them. The soles had begun separating and wearing out. He was so impressed that in August, 2012 when his swift joggers wore out he asked me to pick up another pair for him. We still had the original sticker so I made sure the replacement pair had the same SKU. In only 2 months, having walked no more than 150 miles, the soles on both shoes have worn holes from the sole all the way through the inner liner. the sole is also worn from the toe to the fore mentioned hole. A length of approx 2 inches. The sole appears to be made of cardboard.
I understand that to keep costs down in this economy some a slightly lower quality of materials may be used. You have replaced rubber with cardboard. I feel strongly that you should state this in your product description. With the same name, appearance and SKU # he thought he was buying the same shoe. At $20 a pair he would have to spend $260.00 + buying 13 pairs of shoes to get the same mileage as the first pair he owned. $260.00 to get what he got for $15.00 2 years ago is way out of line with inflation.

Terrible
Date:September 7, 2012
Pros: comfortable at first
Cons: they do not last
These are the worst shoes I hve ever purchased from Payless Shoes, and I have been buying shoes from them for a lot of years. Up till mow I have been satisfied with Payless but I can't believe they actually put these on their shelf ! These shoes wore a hole n the sole within 2 months. and all I do is walk my dog and drive with these.

running shoes...
Date:September 5, 2012
Pros: comfort
Cons: not on bogo sale
I bought these shoes for my boys so far so good ... but was really dissapointed that payless does not do the Bogo for everyday value shoes anymore, it was the only reason why I would shop there for the boys shoes- I have 4 boys !

Wow....
Date:August 24, 2012
I bought these because I was looking for a pair of gym shoes. I've had them for a week and the things are already falling apart. The toe and heel are separating from the shoe. ONE WEEK! Seriously? I should have known better buying a shoe that was still $20 after the ridiculous mall markups....

Very comfortable shoe but breaks down in 3-6mnths
Date:August 20, 2012
Pros: perfect for wide feet, very light easy on legs for running
Cons: wear down at 3rd month
I have been struggling with running shoes over the past few years for two reasons: (1) I have a wide foot (its like two duck feet) and (2) I do a lot of trail runs and mud runs.
Even the custom fit shoes had been giving me back problems because of the width and I wasn't spending $200 every month on new running shoes for my mud runs (sneakers get destroyed after two races).
Pro: I picked these up to try out for a race and they have been great for running. Very light and fits my foot very well and my back is better. Also, I don't feel as bad about trashing a $20.00 pair in a mud run.
Con: I love the shoe but if you are a moderate runner (I do 3 miles 2-3 times a week, maybe 5 miles once a month) than these shoes will break down in the sole area around your 3rd/4th month. But for $20.00, its not my biggest concern.
I actually bought 5 pairs online recently which should hold me over through my races, runs, and basic wear and tear for the year. Thats less than a $100.00 total and gives me 12 months of running. Considerably cheaper than my normal costs.

Very comfortable
Date:June 2, 2012
I'm a woman with a very wide foot, and these fit me much better than a woman's shoe does. They are very light and comfortable, and I like the breathable mesh. I got these for bike riding.

Great shoes for the price
Date:January 6, 2012
Got 2 pairs of Men's Swift Jogger and been wearing the first pair four months now. Been great so far. Can't tell you are running in them, but for normal everyday walking they have been great. With Payless shoes, I can get a new shoes every 9 - 12 month without breaking the bank.

Own this pair of sneakers for 6 months and the sole has a big gaping hole, making running impossible now in this shoe.
