These thong sandals are fantastic! They are beautifully jeweled to be feminine & dressy yet they are flat & open for summertime wear. Of the 4 colors I bought black, bronze (brown), & gold - on sale! yay - & all are absolutely gorgeous. I love that the faceted gems are securely sewn into the sandal & not glued on (which ultimately they would fall off if they were). The jelly is stretchy & not tight, but it doesn't look like plastic or rubber, rather it looks more like leather at first sight. The rubber sole is comfortable & the sandal has a slight heel which can feel a little nubby sometimes but not usually - I generally feel it when I'm standing for long periods. The heel is solid rubber & I think it would feel more 'cushioned' if the core was hollow for some 'give' when pressing on it. The construction & materials are sturdy & durable. I love how easy it is to just slip these on & off. I never liked this style of shoe (thong) until now. In these sandals my feet are comfortable, cool AND pretty. That's a hard combination. I love wearing these with short dresses, capris & shorts. I would wear these to the beach but I don't want to ruin them.

No longer my favorite sandal :(
Date:July 9, 2012
Pros: looks nice
Cons: floppy sole, floppy straps that hold the sandal in place, foot slides to the front/back/side, cheap material under ae brand
These are now under the brand of "American Eagle." Last year and the years prior, this style sandal was under the brand "Montego Bay Club." Since i've worn my old MBC rockstar jellies to death, I went back to Payless to pick up a few more. The plastic that holds the shoe to your foot and the actual base of the shoe is much flimsier/floppier than MBC. I've already had my foot slip forwards, backwards, and to the side while wearing this shoe. Also, there are no half sizes, it seems to run small because the 8 was SUPERSMALL for my foot, and even the 9 is smaller than a true 9. There was no way I could have gone up to a 10 because of the floppy nature of this sandal. There is also this odd squishing/air wooshing sound that is made every time I step down with my right foot. It seems to be coming from where the straps are inserted into the sole. These sandals are not made as well under the American Eagle brand and I'm sorely disappointed because these were my "go to" sandals. I used to wear the MBC sandals 24/7. I was able to power walk with them in NYC and they never budged off my feet. I would not even attempt that with this new AE production of this shoe.
They are casual, but can be worn with a nice outfit, can be worn to the beach, the pool without being ruined, etc. I really wish Montego Bay Club would buy this style back and make it their way again.

Cute Sandal!
Date:April 2, 2012
Pros: stylish, waterproof
I just bought these sandals for my 10 year old daughter and we both love them. We both love the jewels on the front and how easy they are to get on and off. I also love how they are waterproof but look much nicer than a waterproof sandal. I think I'm going to buy a pair in my size because I love them so much.
