Good for work
Date:September 11, 2012
Pros: very comfortable, good slip-resistance, bottom and inner soles are strong, flexable
Cons: upper leather weak, rim of upper sole do separate
They are very comfortable. These boots were an instant relief on my sore feet. The boots do have really good insoles. I do a lot of walking and standing on my feet so the inner soles and bottom sole haven't wore out yet. The upper leather looks really bad. The leather isn't strong enough and tore easy. The rim did separate from the sole but I had them for awhile.I bought these late jan/early feb. I need to buy a new pair and I am going to buy these boots again on payday. They have good slip-resistance too. I would suggest to a friend if comfort is more important than looks. I had to go bigger in size too.

Cons: falls apart
I bought these for my son who drives a semi. Boots started separating from the sole after 2 months. Returned them to the store and was given another pair. Second pair of boots are doing the same thing! What a disappoinment.

Junk!!!
Date:August 12, 2011
I purchased a pair of Rugged Outback Guardian II Work Boots approx 3 months ago. I do not wear them often and they are like brand new. In the front corner of the right foot, the sole dislodged from the material and the black “so called man made” upper ripped apart from its backing. I paid almost $50 for these boots and I have purchased many shoes from Payless over the years for myself and family. Based on this experience I will never purchase another pair of boots or shoes from Payless ever again!. The Quality is very poor and the price is comparable to high end boots and shoes on the market. I expected better construction and wear quality than I experienced. In a nutshell – garbage!!

Comfort, Style, and Durability
Date:June 21, 2010
Pros: comfortable, durable
Cons: no speed lacing
I work 10 to 12 hours a day standing on my feet, in a public safety enviroment. These boots were instantly comfortable, and easy to break in. The style was appropriate for my job, and had the features that I was looking for in a duty boot. I added an extra insole to this boot for shock absorbtion for my heels, although the boot doesn't realy require it. I am surprised by the durability and ease of care these boots require. I'm a 1st time Payless customer and I'll be back for more!
